I feel so honored to have been chosen for this scholarship and I'm so surprised I was chosen. The painting that I made truly meant the world to me and represented what I care about fully– the story behind it was how I crawled out of the darkest place in my life with the support of my cat and a hobby which turned into my passion. This is the first scholarship that placed for, so I'm extremely happy to have gotten it.

I heard about ScholarshipOwl through another scholarship site when the "You Deserve It" scholarship was still floating around. As of writing this, I have applied to over fifty various types of scholarships, and this one is the first one I won! Not only that, but winning first place was the cherry on top, so needless to say, winning this scholarship really made my week to say the least! I don't know exactly where my funds will go yet, but I plan to use it to fund my Bachelor's Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.
